RoomTone is the classroom noise monitor at classroomnoise.live. It is built for teachers who want a projector-ready volume cue without student logins, recordings, or a fake laboratory decibel.

Who runs this

RoomTone is an independently operated website, not a school district product and not a venture-backed classroom platform. There is no sales team and no student information system behind the meter. Questions go to hello@classroomnoise.live. The contact page is the public way to reach the operator.

Why it exists

Teachers already search for a “classroom noise monitor” when they are tired of repeating shh. Many of the results are bouncing toys, paid apps, or hardware lights that still are not calibrated meters. RoomTone’s job is narrower: turn live microphone loudness into one open-ended reaction and three calm-time challenges, match silent work, partner talk, and group work with different targets, and keep audio on the device.

Sleepy Cat mirrors the room and recovers gradually. The other worlds reward the target sound with progress, slow down at working volume, and pause when the room gets too loud. Earned goal progress is not taken away. That mapping is the product, not a skin on a generic meter.

What we will not claim

• We will not call a laptop microphone a certified sound-level meter.
• We will not use RoomTone for hearing-safety or occupational exposure decisions.
• We will not build student profiles, behavior histories, or noise leaderboards.
• We will not pretend a quiet room is the same thing as learning.

How the site is paid for

The classroom tool is free. The website may show third-party advertisements, including Google AdSense, on content pages. Advertising cookies and identifiers are described in the privacy policy, and you can reject non-essential cookies in the consent banner. Ads are not placed as a substitute for the guides; the teacher library is the substance of the site.

Who it is for

Adults who set up a classroom display: teachers, specialists, and sometimes librarians or after-school staff. Students may see the projected game. They do not create accounts. The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not try to collect their personal information.
